[Poetry] Pen and Paper

Here is another one of my favorites, that I wrote after a long period of not writing poetry... similar to now... hmm...  maybe that is why I like it so  much, because I feel like this every time I revisit my poetry.

Pen and Paper

It feels good you know, like a dip in the lake

after running in July—only in shorts

Take that first breath of air rising

out of the water—smiling at the

sun, in defiance, in regret—wondering

why you waited so long.
